Private, In-home Martial Arts Lessons for all ages

Most Schools only give you the choice to train in large groups, and they often mix children in with adults. Since everyone learns at different rates this is not the ideal way to learn a Martial Art.

With Ronin Martial Arts, you will be taught privately in your own home on a one-on-one basis with a professional instructor whose job it is to get you the exact results that you want. By learning in a private lesson you have a far less chance of getting injured and demoralized by someone out of control.

This method also accelerates your learning up to 62% faster, so what most people learn in 6 months you will learn in 2. Your instructor is specifically trained to get you exactly the results you’re looking for. They will always go at your own rate that way you don’t have to worry about being pushed too hard, or about getting bored.

It is often hard to find time to go to the gym once a month let alone a weekly martial art lesson. Not to worry. We work with you in making time for your personal training. We have night and day classes and we can accommodate your personal schedule. Not finding time in your day shouldn’t be what holds you back from reaching your full potential in the martial arts.

We are currently accepting students in the Denver/Metro area.  Contact us now to begin your journey of learning the Martial Arts.

About The Instructor

John Sexton is the principal instructor and director of Ronin Martial Arts. He has been studying martial arts for over 20 years, first starting as a young teen with the study of tae kwon do, but his true beginning in martial arts came with the study of Jujitsu and Kempo.

He began teaching Kempo professionally in 2000 with a large chain school but soon became disillusioned with the business aspect of the school and walked away. He continued to learn, teach and research the martial arts in general, as well as Shootfighting (a type of MMA style), CQC (Police and Military style self-defense) and his hybrid art of Kempo-jitsu in specific, and plans to do so till they pound the last nail shut to his coffin.

Mr. Sexton holds to the following ideals in his teaching and personal study of martial arts:

  • Martial arts should be a positive pursuit for everyone involved. Everyone should be able to benefit from their study of martial arts.
  • One's study should never end. There is always more to learn, technique to further refine, further mountains to climb.
  • Martial arts are primarily and at their core systems of fighting. This does not mean that there are not other wonderful side benefits or pursuits in the martial arts, or that every student must become some type of vicious street fighter. But to lose sight and practice of the essence of martial arts is to leave their path.
  • The martial arts are a living tradition. Sweat over, bled over and researched by our forebears - we owe them no less than to do the same in our practice.
  • The study of martial arts is fun. Walking a circle alone in the wilderness or refining his fighting skills with like-minded people is something Mr. Sexton enjoys and loves, and he hopes to have some of that love of the arts rub off onto his students.
  • A proper learning environment for the martial arts requires not just hard work, serious and consistent study, but also mutual respect among the students and teacher, approaching every learning situation with humility and an "empty cup," and a dedication to mutual benefit for all involved.
  • Martial arts should build you up, not break you down. And each practitioner has to learn to listen to their bodies such that they will know both what they are capable of and what is beneficial to them at any given moment.
